This year’s Remembrance Sunday Parade on the 10th of November is a welcomed return, not only by those taking part, but by the many residents who came out to watch it pass through the village of Culcheth to Newchurch Parish Church for the service of remembrance led by the Rev Martin Cox.
Your local parish councillors in Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft supported and helped plan and organise the event with representatives of the Royal British Legion. They would like to thank everyone involved especially those who carried out the duties of marshals, stewards, and traffic management, helping to make it enjoyable and safe for everyone.
It was wonderful to see so many different organisations and groups taking part. Apart from the Royal British Legion veterans themselves, the parade was supported by the air Cadet Squadron from Croft and their band accompanied by a piper. It was also great to see so many young people from our villages taking part.
Your parish councillors who joined the parade and laid wreaths at the memorial’s in our three villages believe that the people of Culcheth, Glazebury, and Croft truly represented what remembrance day is all about.
We will remember them.
